The 8th Commandment
- You Shall Not Steal -
“Ill-gotten treasures have no lasting value, but righteousness delivers from death” (Proverbs 10:2). “He who steals must steal no longer” (Ephesians 4:28). “…You who preach that one shall not steal, do you steal?” (Romans 2:21) “Will a man rob God? Yet you are robbing Me! But you say, ‘How have we robbed You?’ In tithes and offerings. You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing Me, the whole nation of you! Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this,” says the LORD Yahveh of hosts, “if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows” (Malachi 3:8-10). Also, if we touch YAHveh’s glory it will be as if we gave the ancient serpent an inroad to bite us. “On an appointed day Herod, having put on his royal apparel, took his seat on the rostrum and began delivering an address to them. The people kept crying out, "The voice of a god and not of a man!" And immediately an angel of YAHveh (the LORD) struck him because he did not give God the glory, and he was eaten by worms and died” (Acts 12:21-23). Even the angels would never accept or want any recognition. “YAHveh (the LORD) is opposed to the proud but gives grace to the humble” (James 4:6 and1Peter 5:5). How many of us steal the glory that belongs to YAHveh (the LORD)? For His “is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever” (Matthew 6:13). We cannot touch His glory. If we touch His glory, like a robber, we have stolen from Him. We are not to glorify and exalt ourselves; we are not to be prideful. We are to be humble and grateful, giving YAHveh all the praise, honor, and glory, which is His due.
YAHshua (Jesus) magnified the glory that is due His Father. "He who speaks from himself seeks his own glory; but He who is seeking the glory of the One who sent Him, He is true, and there is no unrighteousness in Him” (John 7:18). Apostle Paul also said, “How few of you have the interest and (glory) of our Father and Savior as the highest motivation of your heart and pursuits. “For they all seek after their own interests, not those of Messiah YAHshua” (Philippians 2:21).
“In everything give thanks; for this is YAHveh’s will for you in Messiah YAHshua” (1Thessalonians 5:18). We have to thank Him or we are robbing Him of what He says is His due. If we can’t give thanks we are to “offer up a sacrifice of praise” (Hebrews 13:15) acknowledging that “YAHveh (the LORD) causes all things to work together for good to those who love [Him] (Romans 8:28). We have to acknowledge that by faith, “and without faith it is impossible to please Him” (Hebrews 11:6). With that faith we have to recognize that He says to thank Him in the midst of this blessing or trial whatever it is, good or bad, because we know that it is His mighty hand in charge of orchestrating these circumstances. Thanksgiving is His due. We are created to give Yahveh glory and we have to give Him glory. (Isaiah 43:7) Eternally everyone in His Kingdom will give Him glory. (Revelation 4:8) We have got to do that. It is robbery of the highest degree not to stop and give Him glory continually. If you learn nothing else you have got to learn this. Yahshua lived on this earth to continually give glory to His Father and to teach us to do the same by obedience in word and deed. (see John 17:1) It is imperative, it is so important. Believers many times during the day exchange His glorious presence for a worthless idol. It is a horrible and shocking thing. (See Jeremiah 5:30) It is like Esau exchanging his eternal glorious inheritance for something that would satisfy his idolatrous hunger and cravings. (Genesis 25:29-34) Yahveh is really honing in on the reality of where our focus is and where the glory goes. It is either upon us or departing from us. If it is not coming forth through us and ascending to His throne continually, then it is going to something idolatrous. We are entrusted to be holy custodians of His glory, to ensure that it is guarded and always given to Him. As the Holy Spirit is jealous for us because we are Yahshua’s holy people, we have to be jealous of Yahveh’s glory that it go only to Him, never to us, never to anyone, or any circumstance. (See James 4:5, Numbers 25:10-11) Everything is always exalted to the glory of Yahveh.
PRAYER:
I come before You, Yahshua (Jesus), in humble gratitude for Your obedience to redeem me with Your life. I cannot comprehend the power of Your glory, please continue to reveal it more and more to me and forgive me for robbing You of the glory that belongs to You. Forgive me for all the times I have neglected to glorify You in my words and deeds with thanksgiving, praise, and adoration. Forgive me Father in heaven, forgive me Yahshua (Jesus) for touching Your glory and keeping it for myself by not giving it back to You. Forgive me Father, forgive me. I want to die to all selfish pride to make sure that nothing rises up against the knowledge of Your presence and glory in me. May there be a continuum of glory ascending to You through my spirit and life. I choose to no longer give attention to my flesh other than to get it on the heavenly altar that Your life is exalted in and through my loving obedience and wholehearted service to You. You are the object of my worship, the object of my focus. I delight to do Your will to glorify You.
Yahshua (Jesus), You are the light of the glory, “the image of the invisible God!” (Colossians 1:15) I pray my motivating, compelling heart’s desire, above all else, will continue to be, “to You be the glory” and that it never rests, it never stops, because it is never meant to stop. Thank You for the joy of joining with Heaven’s hosts in bringing You glory, adoration, thanksgiving and praise so that the glory of Yahveh will cover the earth as the waters cover the seas. Amen.
Don’t Insult the Spirit of Grace
Zechariah saw a flying scroll; its length is thirty feet and its width fifteen feet … Yahveh said, “This is the curse that is going forth over the face of the whole land; surely everyone who steals will be purged away according to the writing on one side, and everyone who swears (falsely) will be purged away according to the writing on the other side. I will make it go forth,” declares YAHveh of hosts, “and it will enter the house of the thief and the house of the one who swears falsely by My name; and it will spend the night within that house and consume it with its timber and stones” (Zechariah 5:1-4).
This also speaks of all who have robbed Yahveh of the obedience due Him by stealing and preaching a deceptive message that removed the Ten Commandments as the bases of righteous living to millions of souls, replacing it with a false grace message that has been swallowed by many and passed down to their children. The label “Christian” and sitting on church pews, will not cause you to escape the judgment to come. Those who have pure hearts, clean hands, who have not bowed their hearts to idols, and those who love Him with all their hearts and out of that love obey His Commandments and guard His righteousness—they will escape. Anyone who tries to go around the Ten Commandments and the once for all sacrificial blood of Yahshua (Jesus) that placed those Commandments on their hearts, are going to go around in the wilderness for the rest of their lives. They will die in the wilderness never getting to see the Promised Land.
This is why Peter said, “For it is time for judgment to begin with the household of God” (1Peter 4:17). “For if we go on sinning willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a terrifying expectation of judgment and the fury of a fire which will consume the adversaries. Anyone who has set aside the Law of Moses dies without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. How much severer punishment do you think he will deserve who has trampled under foot the Son of God, and has regarded as unclean the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know Him who said, “vengeance is mine, I will repay.” And again, “Yahveh will judge His people.” It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” (Hebrews 10:26-31)
Those who take lightly such a costly salvation by willfully continuing to sin are trampling the holy blood and are re-crucifying Yahshua (Jesus) subjecting Him to public disgrace. They are destined to eternal destruction because they have the same guilt as those who stood there driving nails into His hands and His feet and will be found with His blood on their hands. The Son’s holy sacrificial blood will testify against all who disavow or lightly esteem such a great salvation.
His warnings are mercy and it is with humility, contriteness, fear and trembling at His word that one must work out their salvation. If anyone has arrogance they will be humbled and if they continue to break His Commandments, Yahshua will reply, ''I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.' (Luke 13:27) “You did not obey My Father’s commandments that means you are not Mine.” (Author’s paraphrase) “The one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked” (1John 2:6). Yahshua (Jesus) walked upholding Yahveh’s commandments, fulfilling all righteousness.
Next Up: The 9th Commandment
The book of Revelation states that no one who loves and practices lying (falsehood) will enter His kingdom (Revelation 22:15). Practicing falsehood means that you have not developed a language that is of the Spirit of Truth. Our Savior was very explicit He said if you do not speak truth, which is the only language of the Almighty and His Kingdom you are speaking Satan’s native dialect.

- Redefining the Feasts of Israel Through the Ten Commandments -
Want to learn even more about Yahveh's holy Ten Commandment? Check out Terrye G. Seedman's book "Redefining the Feasts of Israel Through the Ten Commandments." The Holy Days pivot around the Ten Commandments, these were appointed times to meet with Him that would help them to walk by His spirit’s leading in these Commandments. Indeed, there would be no feasts if it was not for the Ten Commandments and the penalty of sin for not upholding them and there would be no need of Messiah. The Ten Commandments point us to Him and YAHshua the schoolmaster points us to the truth so we can walk in a way worthy of everything that He has taught us to be. “Not of the letter but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.” (2 Corinthians 3:6) This book unlocks truths from Yahveh's divine Ten Commandments to redefine the true meaning and fulfillment of the holy Feasts of Israel. Simply, the divinely appointed times, the feast days, pivot around the blood on the altar of sacrifice—on the mercy seat, for the forgiveness of sin and sin points us back to the Commandments. Therefore every feast is exalting the Commandments of YAHveh, exalting our Lamb who came and died because we can’t uphold the Commandments without His help. They are inextricably linked. You can’t separate the feasts from the Commandments and you cannot separate the Lamb of God who is the ultimate fulfillment of the holy temple, priesthood, and the sacrificial system’s substitutionary sacrifice for our sin nature. Learn all of this and more in this powerful book about Yahveh's divine commandments and holy feasts.
The Ten Commandments
