The Holy Spirit gives us the grace, discernment, and the power to say, ‘No’ to the flesh as a parent would say, ‘no’ to a spoiled unruly child."

Yahshua (Jesus) is to have His rightful dominion over our purchased, redeemed, and surrendered lives, as we faithfully learn to walk under the tutelage of the leadership of the Holy Spirit. We need to keep drawing close to Yahveh, reading and meditating on His word, and denying ourselves to follow Yahshua our one true love. You have to lose your identity in the natural to gain your identity in the Spirit. If we are not firmly established in biblical truth, with a wholehearted desire to walk in surrendered obedience following our Savior, then inevitably we will swerve off the “narrow path” of righteousness and “fall from our secure position” in the Holy Spirit with Yahshua (Jesus).  (2 Timothy 2:18, Matthew 7:14, 2 Peter 3:17) The Holy Spirit gives us the grace, discernment, and the power to say, ‘No’ to the flesh as a parent would say, ‘no’ to a spoiled unruly child. If we don’t discipline ourselves, then our Heavenly Father will discipline us so that we will learn to no longer give in to the flesh and it’s stubborn inclinations. It is written that “stubbornness is the same as idolatry.” (1 Samuel 15:23)

Our Savior proclaimed, “…let your 'Yes' be 'Yes,' and your 'No,' 'No.' For whatever is more than these is from the evil one [Satan].” (Matthew 5:37) Messiah is saying we need to be so established in His word, will, and under the control of the Holy Spirit, so that we are using the power and authority in His name to say, ‘Yes’ to our God, ‘Yes' to our Savior, and ‘Yes’ to the Holy Spirit and ‘No’ to our own self centered flesh nature and ‘No’ to other people’s self centered flesh nature. There is no in-between, anything in-between is compromise because one is light, one is dark, one is holy, one is unholy. Feed the Spirit and starve the flesh, no wiggle room! As Apostle Paul said, “make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.” (Romans 13:14) The flesh has to be silenced, denied, and put in its proper place under the rulership of the Holy Spirit.   It is called the “fruit of self control.”  (Galatians 5:23) It is impossible for the flesh to counterfeit the fruits of the Spirit and the fruit of the Spirit is the only way we can glorify our Heavenly Father. The fruits of the flesh do not bring glory to the Father.  If we do not die to our flesh and live in the Spirit, we will never in our words and deeds be able to glorify the Father consistently, which is what Yahshua (Jesus) in us, by His Spirit, longs to do.

There is a necessity to know the will of Yahveh by being in His word and “finding out what pleases Him” so we can do it. (Ephesians 5:10) If we don’t have that baseline and foundation we won’t have any way to recognize that we are walking in opposition to the truth, which is what the flesh does by nature. When Yahshua (Jesus) comes it will not be good for us if He finds us in the flesh, in the world, and out of His Spirit. Messiah is crying out, “Flee the world that I lovingly and passionately gave My life to deliver you out of! Don’t go back or you will be under the same judgments as the people of the world who never knew Me.” We must ask ourselves, “Who am I serving? If you are not serving Yahveh you are serving self and the world. Yahveh our God is going to make a marked distinction at the end of the age between those who serve Him and those who do not. (see Malachi 3:18)
