Heaven’s host continually proclaims,“Worthy are You, our Lord and God, to receive the glory and the honor and the power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they exist, and were created and brought into being.” (Revelation 4:11) Yahveh Almighty had all of the glory, praise, and worship from heaven’s hosts. Satan, “the ancient serpent” and one third of the angels rebelled because they wanted to be ruling and reigning, receiving all the gory and all the worship. So, “…War broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. But he [the devil] was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven.” (Revelation 12:7-8) Because of pride and rebellion, Satan and his angelic cohorts were cast out [of heaven] into the earth (Revelation 12:9). So too, for the same prideful sin of willful disobedience, Adam and Eve were cast out of the Almighty’s presence in the Garden of Eden. Sin cannot ever coexist in the presence of the holy God. It is written, “Be holy, for I am holy” and “without holiness no one will see the Lord” (1Peter 1:16 and Hebrews 12:14). Due to Adam and Eve’s rebellion, sin and death entered the human race altering the spiritual DNA of what Yahveh God had created in His own image. We were created for the Almighty’s glory but after Adam and Eve sinned and were cast out of the Garden of Eden, all humanity from that point on was born as fallen man, because they inherited from generation to generation the sin nature which is under the forthcoming wrath of the Creator. Fallen man lost the identity and likeness of the exalted King of Glory and took on Satan’s identity. After Adam and Eve fell through Satan’s enticements, the enemy continued working throughout history to draw God’s children farther and farther away from their original likeness to the Heavenly Father and His holy eternal presence and glory.
The Messiah stated, “Satan is the ruler of this world.” (John 14:30) Truly, the ancient wicked ruler seeks to hold fallen humanity captive to the sinful fallen flesh nature and its incessant desire for this world, which in reality is Satan’s domain of darkness, deception, defilement, and demonic control. (Revelation 12:9, see Ephesians 2:2) Yahshua came to destroy the enemy’s gip, hold, and bondage that has kept us subject to the wrath that is coming on all sin and sinners who rob Yahveh of His glory by not bearing His identity and walking in loving obedience to Him. Only those who are “born again” “new creations” are set free from the fallen flesh nature. Our flesh can only bring glory to the “ruler of this world” Satan, who “comes to rob, kill, and destroy” its inhabitants. ( John 3:3, 2 Corinthians 5:17, 2 Corinthians 4:4, John 10:10) The redeemed children of Yahveh continually proclaim, “Now to our God and Father be the glory to all generations forever and ever.” (Philippians 4:20, 2 Timothy 4:18)
We are literally in a cosmic war at the end of the age. The ongoing war began in heaven, continued on earth, and is moving quickly towards the culmination of the prophesied final war of wars between Satan and his demonic host against Yahveh our God, Yahshua His Son our Messiah, and His born again children. The question we have to ask ourselves is, “who is going to get the rulership over our lives?” Our flesh, by which Satan gets the glory, or our Spirit through which Yahshua (Jesus) receives the glory and it continues ascending to the Father? It is vital that God’s redeemed born again children understand the battle that we are in, this ongoing war is really about who gets the glory. Our flesh is prone to crave the glory for itself while Yahshua’s Spirit living within will compel us to bring glory through our words and deeds to our God and Savior at any cost. The triumph comes as we “work out our salvation”, overcoming our flesh and the pulls of this passing world because our focus, hope, joy, and treasures are above with our King and His coming Kingdom. (Philippians 2:12
When Satan, through the anti-messiah (antichrist) appears, he will want all the worship because the worship is stealing from Yahveh what is due to Him. The war continues and those who live for the flesh and the things of this world are inadvertently and unknowingly deceived into robbing the Creator and Savior of the glory that is to be His alone. If we stay in the flesh and in the world after we have come to know Yahshua (Jesus) as Savior, “It would have been better for us not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn our backs on the sacred command that was passed on to us.” (see 2 Peter 2:21-22) It would be better for us if we had never “tasted and seen how good Yahveh is” if we go back to that state where the glory goes to the flesh, which goes to the ruler of the flesh, which is Satan himself. (Psalm 34:8) The devil and his demons, working through rebellious humanity, are continually trying to keep even God’s redeemed children captive to deception. It is written that Satan is "the father of lies”, his purpose is to “deceive all of the inhabitants of the earth”. (John 8:44, Revelation 12:9)
