- Day 9 -
Don’t Keep Testing Yahveh
He gives us more power, from His spirit, to overcome our fleshly inclinations stimulated by the devil himself. “This is why scripture says, “Yahveh opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” “Submit yourselves to Yahveh.” This applies to all of our flesh; flesh is flesh, spirit is spirit, they war. “Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” (James 4:6b-7) First you have got to submit yourself to Yahveh because you are not going to be able to resist the devil on your own. You cannot submit yourself to Yahveh until you confess your sins that block you from being received into His presence.
You want to keep a clean slate, as best as you can, so you can stay close to Him, because the devil is like a roaring lion and he is always stocking us. We do not want to take time out to go into jaunts into civilian life and have to go through the process over and over again to get back in good stead with Yahveh, while the enemy has a grip on our being; mangling us, while we are frantically trying to confess our sins and get covered in the blood. HalleluYAH, the blood is on the altar, but don’t continue to keep sinning.
“Go and sin no more, your sins are forgiven,” but if you do sin, don’t say you haven’t and call Yahveh a liar, says Apostle John. Acknowledge it, and “Yahveh is faithful and just to forgive you your sins and cleanse you of all your wrongdoing.” (1John 1:9) But don’t keep testing Him, “go and sin no more” as you stay close to Yahveh and resist the manipulations of the evil one. We do not want to be putty in anyone’s hands but Yahveh’s as He makes us into a vessel for holy and noble purposes.
After you submit yourselves to Yahveh, “resist the devil and he will flee from you.” “Come near to Yahveh and He will come near to you.” (James 4:7-8) We have to make the first overture, He has already done it all for He so loved us “that he gave His only begotten Son”, He loved us first so we can love Him. Draw near to Him, don’t just scoot the other way looking and saying, “Did judgment get me? Did the rod of discipline hit me? Did something bad happen, I think I can move the boundary stone a little further I don’t see any trouble coming? I am moving further from Yahveh but it looks like it is His permissive will, nothing bad has happened to me, so I think I can keep edging, hedging, moving the boundary stones of righteousness a little further away from the Righteous One because so far I don’t think He sees?”
Don’t put Yahveh to the test, we read in Numbers that if you keep testing Yahveh and keep defiantly sinning, it is called blaspheming. James 4:17 says, “Anyone who knows the good he ought to do and doesn’t do it, sins.” “But anyone who sins defiantly, whether native born Israelite or an alien, blasphemes Yahveh.” (Numbers 15:30) How many of you in your studies throughout your walk in Christendom would see there is no remedy for blaspheming the Holy Spirit? Did you always wonder, hoping and praying that whatever it meant you would find out because you knew it was the one thing that there was absolutely no remedy for, it would be over, finished, finale, nothing left?
So if you continue to defy Yahveh, if you continue to take what He says and move the boundary stones doing what you know is not right in His sight, you are blaspheming the One who gave you life. You are blaspheming the One who wants to give you eternal life with Him. But no blasphemer is going to spend eternity in His presence. He says, “That person must be cut off from his people because he has despised Yahveh’s word and broken His commands his guilt remains on him; there is no sacrifice left, there is no remedy. Do you hear what the Spirit of Yahveh is saying? This is not a soft peddled gospel insurance policy into heaven message.
