- Day 14 -
We Wait For You
“The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace [in perfect shalom], because he trusts in You. Trust [have faith] in YAHveh forever, for in YAHveh YAHveh, we have an everlasting Rock. …The way of the righteous is smooth; O Upright One, make the path of the righteous level” (Isaiah 26:3-4,7). Praise His name! YAHveh makes the way of His righteous ones smooth. “Yes, [YAHveh], walking in the way of your laws, we wait for you; your name and renown are the desire of our hearts” (Isaiah 26:8 NIV). Is that the desire of your heart? Are you waiting for Him, or are you complaining like the scoffers that Peter warned about who say, “Where is the promise of His coming…all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation” (2 Peter 3:4). The righteous ones are to live by faith; if they shrink back and listen to the scoffers or their flesh, they won’t be waiting for Him.
He is coming “to those who eagerly await Him” (Hebrews 9:28). YAHshua (Jesus) is not coming for those who are busy and happy indulging their flesh and luxuriating in the things of the world. He said He is coming for a people who have faith, and by faith they are proving they are waiting for Him by their righteous acts. They do all that He desires, investing their gifts, talents, and their very breath of life into His kingdom. YAHshua is coming for that group.
We wait, while we walk in obedience to His Torah, the very Torah that much of “Christianity” says X it out, it is null and void. So it is not just a matter of waiting. We wait while we walk in His ways, but we don’t walk in His ways unless we learn them. We don’t learn His ways if we are not taught them, and we are not taught them because many of the preachers, according to YAHshua, are senseless. They are like blind guides leading His people astray. They lead them into a broad pasture where there is no safety; it is a delusion. This is not the path that YAHshua (Jesus) speaks about in Matthew 7:14, “For the gate is small and the way narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.” If they do not like the laws and Commandments of the Holy One of Israel, then they have fallen prey to anti-Semitism, which caused these laws to be obliterated in the first place.
So we wait, walking in Your Torah, walking in Your Commandments, and walking in Your laws, in Your precepts. We wait for Your name and Your renown, that others would know You, YAHshua, as the Holy One of Israel who says, “Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill” (Matthew 5:17). It is the desire of our hearts that You be made known and magnified throughout this world, to receive all the praise, honor and glory due Your name.
“At night my soul longs for You, Indeed, my spirit within me seeks You diligently; For when the earth experiences Your judgments the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness. Though the wicked is shown favor, he does not learn righteousness…and does not perceive the majesty of YAHveh” (Isaiah 26:9-10). YAHveh has no option in these last hours because in a time of grace, the people did not learn righteousness. Look at most of the church system that preaches grace, and yet does not learn righteousness.
Many are taught that they should not learn His laws because if they do, they are going to become a Judaized person. Oh, the enemy is slick; we are not to be unaware of his schemes or he can easily lead us astray. YAHshua (Jesus) says His sheep hear His voice and He is leading us into paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. HalleluYAH! He is coming for those who are walking in His ways and are waiting for Him.
“…Inscribe it on a scroll, that it may serve in the time to come as a witness forever. For this is a rebellious people, false sons, sons who refuse to listen to the instruction of YAHveh (the LORD); who say…to the prophets, “You must not prophesy to us what is right, speak to us pleasant words [things of grace, love, and mercy], prophesy illusions. Get out of the way, turn aside from the path, let us hear no more about the Holy One of Israel” (Isaiah 30:8-11).
I heard a preacher on television say, “The prophets of the New Testament don’t bring conviction, they don’t bring condemnation. They come alongside and they comfort you and they encourage you.” That is a lie from the pit of hell, they warn you of judgment to come. YAHshua says the Spirit in us “will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment” (John 16:8). This preacher wanted to raise money and wouldn’t get it unless he tickled the ears of his audience: “Come get your miracle and don’t worry about those legalists, those prophets who preach like the prophets of old. For the season of the prophets of old is no longer. The prophets of the New Testament give you grace, comfort, and encouragement.”
What could be more encouraging than what YAHveh (the LORD) has just said? In faithfulness, He has proclaimed what He is going to do; He has given us warning. He has given us the blood of His Son, He has given us His Holy Spirit. He has made His truths more clear and vivid, giving us eyes to see, ears to hear, and hearts that desire to obey Him because we love Him and want to spend eternity in His righteous kingdom. What could be more filled with His love and grace than this?
YAHveh says that many have rejected too many times this very message that He has inscribed and preached over and over through His prophets and “…since you have rejected this word and have put your trust in oppression and guile, and have relied on them, therefore this iniquity will be to you like a breach about to fall, a bulge in a high wall, whose collapse comes suddenly in an instant” (Isaiah 30:12-13).
When the judgments come, it will all collapse, it will be shattered. But He goes on to say, “For thus says the Lord YAHveh, the Holy One of Israel, “In repentance and rest you will be saved, in quietness and trust is your strength.” But you were not willing, …Therefore YAHveh (the LORD) longs to be gracious to you, and therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you. For YAHveh is a God of justice; how blessed are all those who long for Him” (Isaiah 30:15,18).
Blessed are those who walk in His ways while they are waiting for Him. They are passionately busy about His renown and fame, spreading to the four corners of the earth. They are waiting for His righteous kingdom to come, as they will enter with confidence, because their sins do not condemn them, for they have been put under the blood through repentance. Praise His name! YAHveh is faithful and His lovingkindness endures forever.
