Overcome the World & Its Wickedness

Overcome the World & Its Wickedness

Genesis 6:5

“Now the earth was corrupt in the sight of YAHveh, and the earth was filled with violence” (Genesis 6:11). This verse describes today. Many people are in dismay over how evil and violent much of humanity is increasingly becoming. Our Savior said that the last days would be as in the days of Noah. There is an interesting reference to the wickedness in Noah’s day to take note of − the Nephilim were rebellious angels who had fallen because of their evil and were living on the earth. According to Scripture, “The Nephilim … came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown…” (Genesis 6:4). The Nephilim helped expedite the deterioration of humankind to the point that YAHveh just expressed, that everything was evil about them. We have the same condition being repeated in this later day generation. It is going from bad to worse continually.

On the light heavenward side, when we are born again, YAHshua’s (Jesus’s) Spirit comes and lives in our hearts. We are born of His Spirit, just like Miriam (Mary), His mother, conceived because the Spirit came into her—not anything of man—it was the overpowering, overshadowing, imbibing, being impregnated with the Spirit of YAHveh (the LORD), the Spirit of righteousness. Our Redeemer is now living in us, we are new creatures, the old carnal fleshy ways are gone and all things have become new (see 2 Corinthians 5:17); they have become, Messiah in us the hope of glory (see Colossians 1:27).

The enemy, as he was through the fallen angels, is working through the demonic spirits to inhabit people. The gracious human beings we once knew are going to be less and less apparent because Satan is going to inhabit many of them. Those who are not filled with YAHshua (Jesus) are going to be taken over by Satan. In the days of Noah, it was the Nephilim the fallen angels. “The Nephilim were on the earth in those days…” (Genesis 6:4). “Then YAHveh saw that the wickedness of man was great on the earth” (Genesis 6:5). The Nephilim and their offspring propelled the degeneration of humankind.

We have seen this today with our own eyes. It is not that individuals are just disillusioned, uninformed, uneducated people. Many are demonically inhabited creatures walking on this earth. “As in the days of Noah so shall it be in the last days.” We see and hear the violence, corruption, and terror on the news. We are seeing the intents of people’s hearts. They are not normal human beings. They are demons living in and through humans. “Then YAHveh said to Noah, ‘The end of all flesh has come before Me; for the earth is filled with violence because of them; and behold, I am about to destroy them with the earth…” (Genesis 6:13-14). YAHveh (the LORD) has an infinite, righteous indignance, provoking Him once again to have to destroy this earth leaving very few inhabitants.

“Noah became the father of three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.” (Genesis 6:10). “Now the earth was corrupt in the site of YAHveh, and the earth was filled with violence. YAHveh looked on the earth, and behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way upon the earth. Then YAHveh (the LORD) said to Noah, ‘The end of all flesh has come before Me; for the earth is filled with violence because of them; and behold, I am about to destroy them with the earth. Make for yourself an ark…everything that is on the earth shall perish. But I will establish My covenant with you; and you shall enter the ark—you and your sons and your wife, and your sons’ wives with you.’ …Thus Noah did; according to all that YAHveh commanded him, so he did” (Genesis 6:11-14,17-18,22).

I am sure that Noah’s sons followed suit and were recipients of salvation because they obeyed their parents who were obeying YAHveh. This was not just some idle work and demands of parents; these are parents who were in touch with YAHveh, who were striving to be blameless, righteous and holy. They had a leadership role to bring the truth of YAHveh’s (the LORD’s) will and Commandments to their children.

If you are a parent, you should teach YAHveh’s Commandments diligently to your children; and children, you should obey your mother and father, for it is a safeguard. It is a hierarchy of eternal success if we do it YAHveh’s (the LORD’s) way. The world’s way says, “I’m smarter than my parents, and I don’t need to listen to them.” But in the case of the parents who are striving to have an intimate, profound relationship with YAHveh, you do well to listen to them.

As parents, we do well if our example and leadership point our children to do what is right in YAHveh’s sight so they will be in that ark of safety with us. “Thus Noah did; according to all that YAHveh commanded him, so he did. Then YAHveh said to Noah, ‘Enter the ark, you and your household, for you alone I have seen to be righteous before Me in this time’” (Genesis 6:22–7:1). We need to do everything to be like Noah, who did everything that YAHveh commanded him to do. He and his family were safe and secure in the presence of YAHveh (the LORD) in the ark that was built to protect them and see them safely to the other side, into His eternal kingdom.

There was no other place of refuge but the ark that Noah built through YAHveh’s commandments and directions. He makes one way of escape, and then the door is closed. Humble yourself in the sight of YAHveh (the LORD) and, in due time, halleluYAH, He will lift you up! He will lift you up as He did Noah and the ark. For forty days, the flood kept coming on the earth and, as the waters increased, they lifted the ark high above the earth. As the judgments come, those who are in the safety of the ark of YAHshua (Jesus) will be lifted higher and higher into His presence. What will kill and destroy the wicked that have evil inclinations will lift us higher and higher into the very protection of our Holy God and Savior!
