Fear YAHveh and Give Him Glory
Revelation 14:7
Let us look at some key verses from the book of Revelation, “And I saw another angel flying in midheaven, having an eternal gospel to preach to those who live on the earth, and to every nation and tribe and tongue and people; and he said in a loud voice, ‘Fear Yahveh (the LORD), and give Him glory, because the hour of His judgment has come; worship Him who made the heaven and the earth and sea and springs of waters’” (Revelation 14:6-7).
Fear Yahveh at the close of the age, as judgments are beginning to make themselves known, and as we are beginning to sense that the judgments are not only at the door, but it is as if they have crossed the threshold and are in the door. The eternal gospel has been proclaimed, but what has come forth has fallen short of the glory of the Almighty in many cases.
Fearing almighty God is something that belongs to Him, and we are specifically talking about what the thief Satan has stolen from Him. The Scriptures say that, “the fear of Yahveh is the beginning of wisdom” (Proverbs 9:10). “…you are not to fear what they fear or be in dread of it. It is Yahveh of hosts whom you should regard as holy. And He shall be your fear, and He shall be your dread” (Isaiah 8:12-13).
A great tribulation is coming; “man’s hands will go limp” (Isaiah 13:7), they will cry out to the hills, “Fall upon me” (Hosea 10:8); they will fear and dread what is coming on the face of the earth. There is an epidemic of fear and terror in the world, and it will grow stronger and stronger. May He bundle up all of our fears that have nothing to do with Him, and may we have reverential awe and fear of the Holy One only.
Prayer
Let us pray with King David’s heart cry: “Yahveh (the LORD) is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? Yahveh is the defense of my life; Whom shall I dread? When evildoers came upon me to devour my flesh, My adversaries and my enemies, they stumbled and fell. Though a host encamp against me, My heart will not fear; Though war arise against me, In spite of this I shall be confident. One thing I have asked from Yahveh, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of Yahveh all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of Yahveh And to meditate in His temple. For in the day of trouble He will conceal me in His tabernacle; In the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up on a rock. And now my head will be lifted up above my enemies around me, And I will offer in His tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to Yahveh. Hear, O Yahveh, when I cry with my voice, And be gracious to me and answer me. When You said, “Seek My face,” my heart said to You, “Your face, O Yahveh (O LORD), I shall seek.” Do not hide Your face from me, Do not turn Your servant away in anger; You have been my help; Do not abandon me nor forsake me, O God of my salvation! For my father and my mother have forsaken me, But Yahveh will take me up. Teach me Your way, O Yahveh, And lead me in a level path Because of my foes. Do not deliver me over to the desire of my adversaries, For false witnesses have risen against me, And such as breathe out violence. I would have despaired unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of Yahveh In the land of the living. Wait for Yahveh; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for Yahveh.” (Psalm 27)
