Set Your Heart to Fully Obey
Yahveh (the Lord) is slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness. But sin is sin; it offends Him (refer to Numbers 14:18). There is only one way to take away offense and guilt, through a pure, humble, and repentant heart that sees it has fallen short of His glory, defamed and grieved Him, and caused others to stumble. Moses interceded for Israel, “Please pardon, I pray, the iniquity of this people according to the greatness of Your lovingkindness, just as You also have forgiven this people, from Egypt until now” (Numbers 14:19).
This is essentially what Yahshua (Jesus) does for us, He intercedes and says, “Father, they repented and their sin is under the blood. Continue to forgive them just as You have from their exodus out of the world and out of carnality to this place where they are now. Forgive them; they have repented; they are covered in the blood. Have mercy—continue to have mercy.”
Yahveh God says to Moses, “I have pardoned them according to your word; but indeed, as I live [He lives eternally, so that is a sharp, emphatic statement] all the earth will be filled with the glory of Yahveh” (Numbers 14:20-21).
The whole issue is the glory of Yahveh and His purpose for His people to be brought out and established in faith and obedience to all His Commandments. Truly the ultimate purpose of our salvation, is to bring glory to Yahveh. That is our responsibility.
“Not one of those who saw my glory and the signs I performed in Egypt and in the wilderness but who disobeyed me and tested me ten times—not one of them will ever see the land I promised on oath to their ancestors. No one who has treated me with contempt will ever see it” (Numbers 14:22-23). Yahveh (the Lord) made a promise, but it was contingent upon if they set their hearts to fully obey Him. This is not religion. Religion alone is empty it has no value. This is righteousness that glorifies the Righteous One. Blessed be His holy name now, and forever more!
