Taste and See
Psalm 34:8
Moses sent a man from each of their fathers’ tribes, and they went up and spied out the Promised Land from the wilderness—that is where many of us were. We were in a spiritual wilderness, sitting in the “man’s tainted religious system” wondering, “Where is the Promised Land? Where is His glory? Where is the fullness of truth? Why is my soul feeling shriveled up?”
We were in a wilderness. But our God and Savior said, “Come out, come out. I am making a way for you to continue on this journey that I have established before you. I go before you and I am your rear guard to bring you into the land flowing with milk and honey.”
“Then they came to the valley of Eschol and from there, cut down a branch with a single cluster of grapes. They carried it on a pole between two men with some of the pomegranates and the figs. That place was called the valley of Eschol, because of the cluster, which the sons of Israel cut down from there.” (Numbers 13:23-24)
That single cluster of grapes was so large that two men had to carry it! It was a memorial, proving, “We saw, we carried, we ate, and tasted.” “Taste and see that Yahveh is good” (Psalm 34:8), see how great He is in the fullness of all that He is. It is beyond fathoming, no eye has seen, no ear has heard, or mind imagined what Yahveh (the LORD) has created for those who love Him.
