Swerving In and Out of the Spirit

Swerving In and Out of the Spirit

What a responsibility we have as parents—and that responsibility begins with our proclaiming to know and love Yahveh as we walk in His ways, glorifying Him in word and deed. We are not to defame Him by our halfhearted, double-minded ways that swerve in and out, from the world to the spirit, from the world to the spirit, a little waltz here and there.

Our God and Savior essentially says, “No! Straight and narrow, like a soldier in the army who does not go out to waltz but walks and marches in synchrony, knowing the kingdom of God advances forcibly and only the forceful lay hold of it” (Matthew 11:12). Yahshua (Jesus) essentially says, “Strive with everything in you to enter that narrow gate, that narrow path, clinging and striving with forceful advancement for His kingdom. It takes every fiber of your being, so you will not be dissipated.”

Our Savior warned His disciples about the things that were going to beset this earth when its destruction was coming saying, “Be on guard, so that your hearts will not be weighted down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of life, and that day will not come on you suddenly like a trap” (Luke 21:34). Dissipation is the frivolous expenditures of our time and energies and the focus of our attentions. It is the frivolous, nonsensical looking here and there and preoccupation with things that have no value, other than Satan’s value, to get you out of the protection that comes to those who seek the Almighty and love Him with all their hearts.

Be on your guard against that dissipating spirit, it seeks to harm all. Yahveh says in Ezekiel 14:20 regarding the destruction that was coming on Israel, “‘Even though Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in its midst, as I live,’ declares the Lord Yahveh, “they could not deliver either their son or their daughter. They would deliver only themselves by their righteousness.’”

We are very far from righteousness, but it is as near as our breath that says, “Yahveh, I want to know You and love and serve You with all my heart.” If you keep saying and praying that, He will keep revealing His heart. His Spirit will give you the power to overcome the flesh, the world, and Satan’s pulls. He will give you the power to uphold, what pleases the Father. The inclination of your heart can change in a moment; it can be inclined toward your flesh and it can be inclined toward Yahshua (Jesus). Don’t wavier. Build a place of safety in obedience to all that He has commanded; build like Noah did for you and the righteous in your family.
